Prof. Dr. Marleen Peumans behaalde haar diploma tandheelkunde in 1987 aan de Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. Daarna volgde ze een postgraduaat van 4 jaar aan de dienst Operationele Tandheelkunde. Ze legde zich vooral toe op het klinisch gebruik en de prestaties van anterieure en posterieure harscomposieten, keramische hechtrestauraties, vezelversterkte composietrestauraties en bleken. Sinds 2004 is ze professor aan de Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.
